We’ve had 4 wonderful days in Munich! We went to the Wies’n, the Hofbräuhaus, Oktoberfest and Bier Tents. We’ve enjoyed parks and restaurants, Biergartens, wine tents. And we even drove to the Alps to see two of King Ludwig’s famous castles, Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Now… what’s left??

Today we start the Wine Ride portion of the tour! We drive north about 3 hours from Munich to a region in northern Bavaria, Franconia. This is where you can find some of the best food, Bier and of course, Wine in Germany.

First thing on our agenda is to get to our starting point, Theres, a small 1200 year old village on the Main River. We’ll tweak the bikes, getting them ready for the riders. Then we’ll have a chance to go to our hotel and explore the neighboring town of Haßfurt.

Our ride will consist of six stages, each of them approximately 30 miles. Well, actually, not so many miles in fact. We have 3 shorter days to allow us to finish our ride and then go visit a nearby town or attraction. We’ll go to Vogelsburg, high up over the Mainschliefe, an oxbow in the Main River with vineyards on the slopes…. we’ll go to Rothenberg ob Der Tauber, the medieval walled city on the Romantic Road… and we’ll stop by Lohr to see Snow White’s Castle. And a few surprises too!!

So…. keep tuning in here as we continue our Adventure…..
